Encinitas

Coastal city known for its vibrant surf culture and beautiful beaches.

Beachy and historic, Encinitas’ unique collection of nurseries, gardens, and well-tended expanses of the Christmas flower, has earned it the moniker, “Flower Capital of the World”. Lying on a rugged coastal terrace 25 miles north of San Diego, this charming enclave cradles the five separate communities of Olivenhain, Leucadia, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, Old Encinitas, and New Encinitas, the last two divided by a low-lying coastal ridge separating both towns.

Marked by lush golf courses in some parts, and private equestrian facilities in others, a cluster of shopping centers especially downtown where local salons flourish alongside art galleries, bars, and restaurants, Encinitas smoothly balances modernistic conveniences with rustic charm. A mild, Mediterranean climate cloaks the sunny city, where residents can enjoy golf course or beachfront living. Homes are tucked back on quiet, tree-lined streets.
